It feels like absolutely years since the Cheeky Girls burst (or dribbled) onto our screens. Their history is somewhat of a mystery but what we do know is that they were auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals. And when they were on the TV, everybody laughed because they were so bad. But look what happened... they didn't go away!
Pete Waterman was remembered to mention they were possibly the worst audition ever, although this was before the days of The X Factor and lets be honest, there have been a LOT of bad auditions on that show...
We don't quite know why but the twins signed a 'recording contract' and quickly released their amazing first single, 'The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)' which ? unsurprisingly knowing the British public ? made the top 3 for Christmas in 2004.

Since the early days of top 3 singles, the pair thought we wanted more from them and continued to release more music, each in turn getting progressively worse. We distinctly remember our ears bleeding...
One of the twins ? maybe Gabriela, or perhaps Monica ? dated odd looking MP Lembit Opik for a while but it seems to have fizzled out after the initial, nano-amount of interest in the celebrity magazines.
